Sherveen has an infectious curiosity and enthusiasm for AI, and the class covers so much material - the basic structure of an LLM, then a super detailed but fast overview of how more independent models work, with the end goal of designing agents and custom software for your own work needs. As a person outside the tech or marketing worlds, there were times I had to dig through a lot of tech speak to figure out what was being said. I think the class would be most useful for someone currently in a workplace where AI is being introduced and they have the opportunity to put a lot of the homework assignments to good use (especially since getting the most out of various models means paying for subscriptions). That said, it did inspire me to think about what custom software would be useful to me and what kinds of personalized context I'd need to build to use LLMs regularly. I really appreciated that Sherveen is focused on teaching about AI in a way that doesn't depend on one particular company, but instead encourages everyone to to think structurally and understand where data lives and where processing is happening, so moving between various programs in the future is easier.
