Dave Wang (Product Dave) Helping you find a fulfilling career in Product

In 2023, I left Australia for the US tech market with no network, no job offers, and no contacts. Six months later, I landed my first US role and interviewed at Meta, Amazon, Kajabi, Substack and other top tech companies.

That's my speciality: coaching career transitions with 5000+ students across 30+ countries & 300+ transformations.

I don't teach from the sidelines. I'm a practising Product Manager with 20+ years of experience. Everything I teach is tested and validated from hundreds of books and courses that don't work.

I'm new to Maven, not new to teaching. I've taught at General Assembly, Melbourne Business School, & Harvard Innovation Labs in past 9 years.

I also run www.ProductAcademy.io with 4.8 stars on TrustPilot

What I teach is a repeatable system that works no matter where you are.

Alumni reviews

I first did Dave's course many years ago, and it stuck with me. It was grounded in real workplace product scenarios I could actually use. His approach to aligning customer problems with business goals directly shaped how I made decisions and communicated strategy in my subsequent roles. So when Dave updated the course with AI-integrated tools, it was an easy decision to join this course. What I appreciated about this course is how Dave frames AI as a partner that speeds up your thinking but importantly, not replace it. He's constantly reminding us to interrogate the output based on the PM framework, if it actually makes sense for our context? It was excellent to work through with a cohort of motivated peers under Dave's tutelage with PM tools and frameworks that he's built over the years from industry experience. The course takes self-learning into a live online session that is practical and apply that learning to real company scenarios. It was very much worth it!

I have always wanted to get into product management, and Dave's course has helped tremendously during the journey. Dave does just lecture he actually shows you how it's done in real life. He breaks it down into fundamental pieces bit by bit. And then we use AI to create a prototype product that I can use in interviews to showcase my skills. It also shows me how to network within the industry and write a PM resume that actually gets me interviews. Thank you, Dave!

Came into this as someone mid-transition into product management, and honestly it was exactly what I needed. Dave doesn't just throw AI tools at you and call it a day — he actually builds up the fundamentals first, which makes everything else click. With how fast things are moving right now, having that solid base makes a real difference. The small cohort actually makes a difference — you get real feedback! And the mix of people from different backgrounds made the discussions very insightful. Pre-recorded lessons are there if you miss a session,. The tools are practical. I've pulled a few into my actual workflow, which I can't say about most courses I've taken. If you're transitioning into PM or trying to figure out where AI fits into the role, totally worth your time. Dave knows what he's talking about.

This course helped me pivot from operations leadership to product management--a solid foundation and clear next steps I could immediately apply day-to-day to "practice." As part of the March cohort, I worked through the core product management frameworks with David, whose teaching style goes well beyond simply introducing concepts. Although I wasn't able to join the live sessions due to the time zone, I rewatched them later and completed the lessons at my own pace, week over week. We applied the learnings through homework, and I applied them again through my job search and case studies, which is what made everything sink in. His one-on-ones were equally valuable: David draws on real companies he's worked with, sharing what failed and what succeeded, so nothing stays purely "theoretical." I found his PM-specific career advice so compelling that I'd even explore hiring him as a product coach. For anyone navigating a career transition into product, the material translates immediately to interviews and case study prep. I came in from operations and left with both the vocabulary and the confidence to compete for PM roles.
